I attended an international leadership conference several months ago.
For the past 30+ years, I’ve been blessed to be trusted to impart into the lives of people. Personal development, workforce development, leadership development, team development, and faith-based principles.
So, in the spirit of transparency and authenticity, I acknowledge that I went into the conference with the mindset that this will be a nice “refresher” for me.
But on the first day, the conference host challenged us. He said, instead of thinking “I’ve heard this already”, ask yourself “How well am I living it?”
That one well-placed question was a game changer for me, and probably for others in the room, many of whom, like me, were trainers, consultants, and leadership coaches.
That one question, “how well are you living it”, changed my whole perspective, and ultimately my whole experience at the conference.
So, as we enter a new year, and we make new commitments and new resolutions, let’s ask ourselves, “how well am I living it?”
And if we make a new commitment at all, let one of those be to “live what I learn”.
